Report on the VII Conference on Electricity Distribution CIRED held in Vrnjacka Banja from 26th September to 1st October2010

THE SEVENTH CONFERENCE ON ELECTRICITY DISTRIBUTION  IN SERBIA AND MONTENEGRO with regional participation, supported by CIRED, the International Conference on Electricity Distribution, was held in Vrnjacka Banja from 26th September to 1st October 2010.

According to the preliminary data, the Conference was very well-attended. There were over 700 participants, taking into account the presented papers, companies exhibiting their products at the exhibition, as well as the participants showing an interest in the exhibition of the former. A considerable number of commercial participants managed to visit the stands of 48 firms which had their exhibition space i.e. stand. The Conference also justified the term regional, as there were 99 participants from other countries, most of which were from Bosnia & Herzegovina (47), followed by Croatia (14), Slovenia, Romania and the Czech Republic (8 per each country) etc.

The first day of the Conference, 27th September 2010, was marked by a prominent well-attended pre-seminar on Smart or Advanced Grids. The presentations were followed by comprehensive discussions, after which were drawn the following conclusions:

The strategy, framework and development trends of SmartGrids solutions were defined at the European level, and it is therefore necessary, in view of our technological development, to take the required steps in order to comply the current documents to our requirements;

It is necessary to set up a comprehensive framework in order to define the strategy of SmartGrids applications at the state level;

Take active part in bodies and working groups dealing with the enactment of the subject regulations at the European level;

Intensively follow all the state-of-the-art technological solutions in this field in order to gradually comply our current technical regulations thereto;

The Agenda of the first day’s work also included the Assembly of CIRED SERBIA, where a decision was made concerning the scheduling of elections in 2011 and the procedure thereof.

The Conference work went on in 6 Sessions which did not have the same number of papers. After completion of work in commissions, the following conclusions were drawn:
